Fortune Casting is seeking SAG and non-SAG actors for roles in "Hillers," filming in the Scranton area beginning August 11, 2008.

An Internet series, it will be shot in HD video under a SAG Ultra Low Budget Agreement, all work considered Local Hires, some pay. Auditions will be held by appointment only, in June.

Seeking:
 

MITCH (male lead) – hard working, middleclass everyman, slightly world weary and beaten down. He is a Caucasian male, 36 years old average looks and build, perhaps a bit paunchy, but not fat. Think Ricky Gervais’ character Andy Millman from Extras, just slightly younger and thinner. Mitch is basically a good guy who has been driven to extreme circumstances by his world and those in it. He seems to have a perfect life – pretty wife, decent job and a practical car that is almost paid for, but beneath the surface Mitch is a twisted pile of self loathing and alienation, having realized that his life as a married, middle-aged, middle-manager is stifling and unfulfilling. The first season of Hillers is Mitch’s story, as we follow his journey from happy, content average guy – to self destruction to total breakdown.

BMW Girl (female lead) – Caucasian,  25 yr old, model type. Extremely sexy and attractive, beautiful face, long hair, thin yet curvy body, preferably on the tall side (5’8”) – every man’s fantasy. Think Sports Illustrated swimsuit model with serious acting chops. In fact she does need to look great in a bikini because there is bikini scene. She has an undeniable smoldering sexuality about her that is behind her eyes and smile. She is totally sexy, no matter what she is wearing. She is smart, quick witted, powerful  even a bit controlling. She pops in and out of Mitch’s life in various incarnations and at times is his confidant and at other times his nemesis. In many ways, she is the project’s most important character. It is her who leads Mitch to his ultimate decision.

MISTER TATE – (Mitch’s Boss) Caucasian male 50-60, husky, balding and serious. Typical boss, overbearing, controlling and quick to show you where you fucked up. Tate occasionally shows thoughtfulness to those under him, because someone at a leadership seminar he once attended at the Newark Hilton and Convention Center said that was important.

HARLEY – (works under Mitch) Caucasian male, 20-something, thin and wiry, average looks and height, fast talking. Harley is an up and comer working under Mitch who is desperate to be noticed. Part kiss-ass, part “always on” salesman, Harley is constantly in Mitch’s face trying to pitch his bizarre and in all honesty stupid ideas. He is brimming with unjustified self-confidence.

ELLEN – (Mitch’s sister)- Caucasian female, mid-30’s, thin, attractive (a bit of a MILF), long hair, pretty, average height. Ellen works out regularly and it shows. Ellen is a big mouthed busy body who is constantly trying to tell Mitch what is best for him. When she’s not at the gym – she talking about going to the gym or reading the latest health magazine or trying the latest health-fad recipe. Since she does not have to work, she has plenty of time to involve herself in Mitch’s life.

TOMMY (Ellen’s Husband) – Caucasian male, mid-30’s, attractive, well groomed with a winning smile and a $50 haircut. Tommy is that kid in High school who always dated the cheerleader, was class valedictorian and voted most likely to succeed. Tommy is a successful financial manager who’s large salary has made Ellen’s lifestyle  possible. He is a doting husband who showers Ellen with nice clothes, jewelry and mushy-faced kisses during their many open displays of affection that would send your glucose meter  off the charts.

SARAH – (Mitch’s wife) – Caucasian female, mid-30s, short to average height moderately pretty but in a “slightly paunchy housewife” sort of way. She could probably stand to loose 10-15 pounds and is not wearing her hair long like she used to anymore. She is very insecure and is constantly worried that there’s something she doesn’t know or something someone isn’t telling her. She has always had an idea in her head about how “happy” married couples act, and she’s been trying to orchestrate that with Mitch for as long as they’ve been married (8 years)- to no avail.  She does honestly love Mitch, but she is beginning to grow tired of what she feels is a one-sided relationship. If you asked her, she’d tell  you that her constant “suggestions” about how Mitch should change are really her way of saying “I Love You” and showing how much she cares. In fact, the fact that Mitch doesn’t reciprocate is further evidence, in her mind, that Mitch and her may be nearing the end of the road.

TERRY – Mitch’s close acquaintance, African American male, 30s, short but very attractive and fast talking, very intelligent and well spoken. Terry is a self made independent business man who is totally confident in his ability to do and know anything and everything. He will make any deal work and he will make the sale every time. Terry is confidence to the extreme. It’s fair to say that Terry has never had a bad idea – seriously just ask him, he’ll tell you himself. Imagine “Jackie Childs” from Seinfeld (actor’s real name is Phil Morris) – only short.

ARTIE – (Mitch’s High school friend) –Caucasian, mid 30’s, average to tall height,  overweight and gregarious, a lovable chubby man who is the life of any party. A loud talking fun-seeker for whom life is one party after another.  Artie has survived by loosely stringing one unskilled job after another and making just enough to pay rent to his mom for the small apartment over the garage. A terminal adolescent, the pursuit of his next good time is much more important than his next paycheck. But not in a destructive alcoholic way – Artie is the loud, incredibly fun guy at the party that everyone wants to know. Artie Lange would make the perfect Artie.

“DOCTOR” WATTS – (Mental health “professional”) Caucasian, 40s average height and build, very normal and average looking. The good “doctor” looks completely normal, like any professional blue-collar guy and his straight expression and calm demeanor serve very well to hide the fact that he has no idea what the hell he is talking about. Watts is a perfectly normal, average unassuming façade behind which is a freak. Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle, Seinfeld,  Breaking Bad) would be perfect.

GRANNY – Caucasian elderly (60+) female – stereotypical grandma- kindly, very friendly, trusting and very forgetful.
